Ok can someone please explain to me how GPA is calculated? I have a 3.25 and when compared on these forums it feels like that's abnormally low, although I think I've had a average-above average HS "career". ( mostly B's and A's with like 3 C's total in all honors classes. )

Sorry, made a typo “AN average”

No one ever answers my questions :(

Here’s one way to figure it.
Under the 4 point system, an A is worth 4, a B is 3, a C is 2, D is 1.

Ex: You took 6 classes in one semester. 3 As, 2 Bs and 1 C.

3 x 4 = 12
2 x 3 = 6
1 x 2 = 2
_____
Total 20 Divide by 6 (the number of classes) and the GPA for that semester is 3.33

Next semester you take 7 classes and get 4 As and 3 B’s. GPA for that semester is 25/7 or
3.57.
And so it goes…

but the cumulative grade point is now (20 + 25 ) / (6 + 7) = 3.46

@OP: On this forum, a 3.25 is considered low because people on here tend to be highly-achieving students. Most of the people on this forum have mostly A’s and a few B’s.

Ok ok thanks for your input. Yeah i feel out of place on here haha.

I feel the same way, soccer. No one ever answers my questions :(
