Me and my friend are in the most prestigious school of our country, but it’s really hard and they dont really care about our GPA’s so we have a lower GPA compared to the others.
How does colleges know if you’re really in a hard school program?
College are well aware of other schools’ system and how hard it can be to even get, let’s say 75%.
However, GPA isn’t everything. Can you list your stat, ECs, etc?
Also, can you pay 38k~65k per year?
No,we’ll try to get an amount of aid. Also we’re trying to get 5s in APs so that we actually can say that it was hard, because we don’t have AP courses here, just our knowledge and books are our only chance.
ECs?
Award records?
Test scores/
Oh well.Here they are :
I was in the soccer team for a year.
I’m the english drama Club president.
I’m a member of school parlement.
I’m starting to be a part of European Youth Parlement, and I will try to get selected by national commitee.
We’re running a enviromentalist project for some competitions.
Helped yörüngeye students in tehir classes.
Plans to do some volunteer work as I hear that it means much for colleges.
I got a 102 in TOEFL,but I’ll try again for better.
SAT Subjects : French 740
Chemistry 760
Biology 780
Math 2 800
I’ll take :
AP Calculus AB
AP Biology
AP French
Sat S. physics
Sat S. World history
ACT
These are the ones I remember for now but for the exams, there will be additions/deletions if required.
AP scores carry little to no weight in the admissions process. Needing financial aid will seriously impact your chances.
You never actually said what your GPA was…
If APs are not important, what they are looking (tests) are only SAT/ACT and Subjects (for some) ?
Well it’s %80 for 9th , %84 for 10th and it will probably be a 90% for 11th.
Correct.
I know that it’s not about the discussion but how important are essays and recommandation letters on a scale of 1-10?
Still take the AP’s. If you get 5’s on them, it shows you know the material, plus, most schools give credit for 4/5 scores. It looks good on the resume to have a bunch of 5’s. Shows your knowledge. GPA is not too bad, especially since it is on an upward trend.
I’m currently studying for the APs,and if they are not important in the process in the first place, they will not be a minus for sure And exactly as you say,it shows that we are trying our best, doesn’t it?
Anyway,Thank you for all the help you provided guys,I really appreciate it.
Yes, self studying shows that you are a very dedicated student.
What is your nationality?
Also, don’t retake TOEFL. 100 is fine.
I’m Turkish.
Don’t retake the TOEFL, you’re good there. Your subject tests are excellent too. So now, focus on the ACT and on your ECs.
Your school counselor will have to provide a “school profile” that presents the school compared to other schools in your country, any grade deflation compared to other schools or national exams, your ranking in your school but compared to regional or national averages, any curriculum explanation or comparison, etc. This profile is very important.
