Hi, I took some high school courses in middle school and it shows up on my transcript, ruining my cumulative GPA because got 2 B’s in total ( One in 8th and one in 7th), but I have gotten straight A’s throughout high school but because I received B’s in middle school for high school courses its impossible for me to get a 4.0 Unweighted cumulative because the b’s i got in middle school are included . Will this ruin my chances of Admission at an ivy league institution like Harvard? Will this make me less competitive?! Will Harvard care about the B’s that showed up on my transcript for the highschool courses I took in middle school?!
Thanks!!!
No. If you do not get into Harvard, it will not be because got B’s in middle school. Some successful applicants to Harvard have actually received B’s in HS. (gasp)
Does what you said still apply even if it’s on my transcript?
^ Yes it does.
Well, I was assuming it was on your transcript, so yes, my statement still applies. An AO cannot see what is not on a transcript.
Many schools would recalculate your GPA. Even your middle school grades are in the transcript, it does not mean they will be all included in if at all.
