Middle school grades messing up college chances?

first off I know colleges state they only look at high school grades for admissions, however…
I’m a rising senior at a 6-12 school and just got my transcript. I didn’t realize it would have all my grades from the whole 6-12 (on one page), and I confirmed w/ guidance that it’s identical to what the school sends to colleges.
Now, my high school GPA is a 4.3/4.3, A+ in every class. Unfortunately, I really blew off middle school. I’m talking a majority Cs and Ds. This isn’t a story of how I struggled in school and pulled myself up either - middle school was a joke for me, mostly pointless busy work that I didn’t learn anything from, unfortunately 12-year-old me wasn’t thinking about what this would look like on a transcript
My question is, is there any chance colleges seeing all these Cs and Ds (albeit ones that shouldn’t count) on my transcript will bias them against me? Also, the cumulative GPA reported at the bottom is cumulative MS+HS so I’m looking at a 2.8 cum right now o.o

Don’t worry about this. The colleges will recalculate a high school GPA for you.

Thanks - I know that colleges officially only use my HS GPA. However, especially since I’m planning to shoot for top schools (Ivies+MIT/Stanford/Caltech) as my dream schools, is there any chance that a whole column of Cs and Ds being the first thing the officers will see when they open my transcript will bias them against me unconsciously?

I am sure that college admissions officers know that many students mature in HS…they care if you are able to do college level work. Your HS record shows that you are.

Do you really want to go to a school that would hold middle school grades against you?

That said, this sounds like a private school. The way to get it changed would be for a large number of parents to complain about it. There is no reason for middle school grades, especially those not for high school level courses, to show up on a college app transcript.

Nobody here can tell you what an individual AO may or may not think.

That said, I would be very surprised that absolutely no parent in the history of time has challenged the administration on the wisdom of including all middle school grades, especially for non-HS classes, into a HS GPA. Assuming that what you understood the GC to say is correct, you need to involve a parent in this conversation with the school, not anonymous internet users.

While I’m not aware of the specifics of your HS, at another NYC HS that includes middle school and starts in 7th grade, all classes taken that are considered HS level appear on the transcript sent to colleges. As noted above, the only way to get a definitive answer is directly from your school, and it may be necessary to get your parents involved in the conversation with the school.

That’s not uncommon. From my own experiences, that was the case for my HS, although it did not include grades, just credit. But the OP is indicating that it’s all classes taken from 6th-8th grade.

ok so i emailed back and forth with gc, he said the issue apparently has been raised before but the software my school uses to record grades and generate transcripts can’t just generate a transcript for a certain year range. They have recently been warning middle schoolers that colleges will see their grades as a result, but that started after my time. However, he can include a note with my transcript saying we didn’t receive that warning and to disregard those grades
