wow, i don't have a pertinent question right now, but i just think it's great that hbarns is helping us to releive our tension by answering our questions.

Thanks a lot :)

So does the gpa recalculation take into account the difficulty of a school (ie. grade inflation or deflation) or is that just a factor considered when the AOs are looking at gpas?

haha this is making me more tense actually.
oh well, i'll always have ut =P

The recalculated GPA is absolute, but it's considered in combination with the SAT scores, the rep of the high school, and the rest of the app. No candidates get compared along only one axis -- the whole emphasis is on building a contextualized, holistic picture of the candidate.

Haha ohmisszanna...if you and I both get rejected from Princeton (and everywhere else we apply) (WHICH IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN) then we can just rock UT.

This is making me tense too because I haven't even submitted my app yet! At least all of this stuff for you guys is out of your hands...I still have to make myself perfect. Well, you know what I mean.

lol how many other apps u gotta do j07?

ahahhaha you're lucky though, now you have some advice!

but yes, we'll rep Princeton CCers at UT if it comes down to that =D

Umm...11?

Yikes.

I'm Common App-ing pretty much everything except Princeton and Stanford though, which should make it go a little more quickly, and I'm writing malleable essays.

I am the worst procrastinator you will ever meet though. I don't know if any of y'all know about the IB Diploma program but we have to do an Extended Essay that we're supposed to research/work on for like 6 months. Mine was assigned last March and I STARTED working/researching/writing/anything on it at 6 A.M. the day it was due.

But I got fabulous responses!

I know that won't work in college or for my essays but...I'm not too panicked...yet.
