Gpa

Hypothetically, if my UC GPA is a 4.2 (and my regular GPA is a 4.1) applying to college, but I got a 4.4 in my junior year, would my junior year be more important to them or would my overall GPA be?

Also, my GPA is not as high as it could be due to the fact that I'm taking Band and ASB which count towards my GPA, but are not weighted. Obviously, I'm not going to drop them, but I was just wondering will colleges take that into consideration or is my GPA more important to them?

Thanks,
Matt

bump anyone?

How can your "regular GPA" be 4.1? It shouldn't be over 4.0. Your junior year is most important of your high school years, though your overall GPA is going to have the most influence. Lastly, what do you mean by "them"? The UCs vary in selectivity, so you'd have to point out which schools exactly.

By regular, I mean not UC GPA, meaning including freshman year. And by them, I mean admissions officers at specifically UCB and UCLA.

you need to convert your GPA to a 4.0 GPA
there are sites on line to help but all classes should score the same AP classes and normal classes an A is 4 A- is 3.77 B is 3.... and so on
total them and divide by number of classes... if you have received anything lower than an A it is not 4.0 even an A- will lower it to 3.95 or something like that

Cal and UCLA use holistic admissions and I think both state somewhere on their websites that they consider an upward trend. In any case, your UC GPA is right on target for accepted students at both of those UC's. Good luck.
