Gpa

So my school does not calculate GPA which is odd. However, I know that a lot of colleges will try to calculate a GPA out of my transcript. Thus, can you guys help me out here.

I have B in AP Physics C, B in AP Calc BC, A in English, A+ in Spanish, A in Biology, A in Chorus, A in Wind Ensemble.

Do I have a 3.6 GPA ? With this GPA, can I still dream about some top colleges ? Or I am out of the range ? My school is a really rigorous private school.

By my school’s standards, that is a 3.71 unweighted and a 4.0 weighted.

Is it considered a non-competitive GPA then at some top LAs or Ivy ?

Is it considered a non-competitive GPA then at some top LAs or Ivy ?

It is perfectly competitive depending on your other stats and your school’s competitiveness. For instance, I got into Cornell with a 3.38 UW gpa, and the average UW gpa for Cornell is about a 3.5 from here (and like 3.6 for Penn, Brown, Dart, 3.7 for HYP).

My school is really competitive and I just moved in this year so I got bad grades at the beginning. I am so worried that these 2 Bs gonna kill me so that’s why I was asking.

since it’s really rigorous, I don’t think that B will hurt you much… depends on what you are planning on majoring in, though, too.

admissions are such a crapshoot nowadays, though. no one really knows what the hell they’re thinking. :/

will it hurt much if I plan to major in economics, sociology, anthropology ?
