Gpa

Does the GPA change every term, by how good you do. Such as in HS where you have all your credits and then you get one final GPA which is cumulative to all of them.

or does the GPA just run by term. Such as if you had a 2.9 in the Fall and then you get a 3.5 in the spring.

Is your New GPA a 3.5

Then in the next Fall term, you get a 3.3, do you move to a 3.3.

The 2.9.3.5 and 3.3 are all just the current terms average calculation of just that certain number of classes.

You have a semester GPA and a cumulative GPA. Your cumulative GPA is affected by your semester GPA, but no to the same extreme because it is an averaging of all your semester GPAs.

Yep, what Matthew said. You will also have a major GPA, which as one could guess, is the GPA for the classes in your major. It doesn't show up on your transcripts, but will be needed if you apply to grad school.

How do they calculate GPA? Do they weigh the grades based on credit hours?

I believe that's standard, yes.

The forumula for calculating GPA:

(Credit Hours X Grade) = Honor Points

(Sum of Honor Points earned to date/Sum of total credit hours earned)=GPA

GPA=grade point average, or cumulative average
GPI=grade point index, or semester average
