okay, so i've heard that Cornell is trying to impose grade deflation, but i'm planning on applying to med school and dont want to hurt myself by having a low(er) GPA. does anyone have any idea if this is going on, and esp in engineering.
Thanks

Yes, it happens. Yes, Med Schools are aware of it and understand you're coming from Cornell.

Wouldn't be better to just maintain a high GPA at Cornell? Then you wouldn't have to worry about this...(I know, I know, easier said than done...)

"is trying"? mission: accomplished...since forever. the good thing is that because of that Cornell grades usually get multiplied by 1.1 or add .3. schools like harvard where they are "are trying" end up hurting the students now (will help in the future, but now is the problem) because they are known for grade inflation. sucks for someone who goes to harvard and earned a 3.5 because even though they are trying to get rid of that stigma of grade inflation, it is still a slow process.
