Yes I am very disgraced to even be related to grade forgiveness, but I completely slacked off this year. Last year with two APs and rest honors(Sophomore), I had all As and one B.

This year, I literally have Ds, Cs, and Bs. Maybe even an F. I just got used to not doing working, and eventually completely slacked off the last two quarters. I am already retaking the semesters of two courses. I talked to the GC about it, he told me both grades will be visible on application.

Is there ANY way I can convince him into not putting the previous grades? Assuming I obtained As in five courses that I make up, and the old grades were Ds and Fs...

Is it possible for the grade forgiveness grade to mask the old grade somehow.. I know some schools actually do that though.

I am desperate for help.. I am so worried as this might jeopardize admissions into the college I want to go to(UF)

My grades also slipped this year.

I don’t think there is any way out of this, except for you to do exceptionally well during the first semester of your senior year.

What are your SAT/ACT scores? Are they high?

Yes they are high

And there is a way out of it in Florida, there is a thing called Florida Virtual School.

I am retaking the courses… Oh wait, are you talking about the grades showing up on the transcript?

and Btw how hard are the AP courses on FLVS if you have any knowledge about that?

Yes, I’m talking about the grades showing up on the transcript.
At least that’s the way in my school.

Well, is your guidance counselor lenient? Maybe a cry-fest ought to soften his heart. What’s his favorite store? Send him a lifetime supply of coupons. JK!

Like I said before, significantly pull your grades up next year, because your senior first semester grades are on the final transcript.

Will colleges actually take that you retook the course into great consideration? especially if every other year you got mainly A’s…?

Hate to break this to you, but yes.
If you retook the course, obviously something must be wrong. It looks suspicious. Well, if you are generally an “A” student, then there must be some reason behind the sudden bad grades.
If there are personal reasons behind the grades, explain it to the admissions officers. They might be understanding.
