I'm messing up my first semester grades....

Hey guys I’m just wondering how college admissions will look at my transcript because I’m doing way worse than my previous years. I went from having straight As in sophomore and Junior year and now will go down with 3 Bs and 3 As simply because the APs I took this yr were pretty difficult. How will colleges such as USC and Georgia Tech look at this. I will still have a 3.9 and 4.4 unweighted and weighted but was wondering how much the drop would affect me. Thanks guys and any input appreciated no matter how mean it is.

Bump

Nobody can say how much it will matter, but it will matter to some degree–the assumption is that senior classes are more challenging and thus more closely resemble college classes, so when students don’t rise to meet that challenge, it may raise questions among adcoms. Best of luck, @TooMuchSwag420 (by the way, hope for your sake that you’re not identifiable online; your username doesn’t inspire confidence).

Alright thanks man

Frankly, are there things you can remove from your schedule in order to allot more studying/homework time for your classes? Like marvin said, how you’re doing now is indicative of how you’ll do starting college. Drop distractions and get to some tutoring if possible. GT isn’t a cakewalk. Best of luck to you

How much are finals weighted on your semester grades? If you really care to bring up your grades and the finals have some good weight, then get to studying. I agree that this semester is important. Colleges don’t like to see a downward trend… save those hiccups for 4th quarter (no Ds or Fs though). And I agree with Marvin100… your user name immediately made me think your “extra-curriculars” have something to do with the downward trend.

Geez guys you make it seem I’m like smoking weed everyday or something. But yeah you guys are right. I’m currently at mid Bs at all of 3 of my classes but do have As in the hardest classes at my school. Idk how much that factors into it. But classes like AP English Lit and AP Calculus are no joke at my school and those are the classes I have Bs in… @pheonixmomof2 @marvin100

But I do have an A in AP Physics and AP Computer Science
