<pre><code>Throughout history the term compromise has been seen as weakness. Our nature as human beings makes us loathe to accepting or even to ceding to others who are different than us. The statement that compromise is in fact not the best way to solve conflicts is an unequivocal truth bolstered by several examples from history and current local events including the defeat of Germany and the Audubon conservation society.

Life would be much more different had their been a compromise between the Axis and the Allies. The Axis were interested in only dictatorial and oppressive leadership while the Allies favored democracy. During the war the Allies did not compromise to end the conflict but rather fought bravely to ultimately defeat the Axis. Thus, even though compromise might have ended the war faster, the Allies refused and ultimately spread democracy.

Furthermore, just as the Allies did not surrender their beliefs, so too did the Audubon conservation society of my town. When the town had a nature preserve and businesses side by side, conflicts were bound to arise. The businesses would constantly clash with the conservation society over pollution. When the businesses wanted to keep the Audubon quiet they offered to pay a small tax for their damages. After pondering the matter, the Audubon refused and bought out the land from the businesses. Hence, without compromising the conversation society was able to ensure the safety of all the animals and provide a great park for all of its residents.

Indeed after careful analysis compromise might not be the best option to resolve conflicts. The Allies and the Audubon conservation society clearly show how the long term effects of compromise could in fact be detrimental as well.
