Prompt: Is it important to question the ideas and decisions of people in positions of authority?

Humans have a desire to be always right. We had seen through history that a person who is believed to be right gains power more easily. We have to question their ideas.

In 1939 WWII started. The leader of Germany was Adolf Hitler. He convey the plan of exterminate the whole Jews population. He thought that the Germans were superior race. The majority of the German population thought that he was right. By the end of the war, millions of Jews, soldiers and civilians were killed. This clearly shows that when people people do not question strongly enough the ideas of their leader and let them gain to much power, catastrophic consequences are the result.

One can also see this problem in literature. In "Don Quixote" by Miguel de Cervantes, Sancho Panza is the friend and company of Don Quixote. Don Quixote believes that he is a horseman whose duty is to defend his whole country. He told Sancho the if Sancho accompanies Quixote, he will give him a kingdom. Panza accepts the deal without knowing that Quixote is crazy and that he is not any horseman. Panza follows Quixote for years until he discovers the reality. He never receives his kingdom. Panza would not have waste all his time if he had question Quixote's ideas.

Both Adolf Hitler and Don Quixote were leaders who were wrong. If their followers would have doubt about their action and ideas, they would not have committed so big a mistake. Doubt is a good thing.
