<p>No; yes, but your later grades are more important; they see it as written on your transcript.</p>
<p>Don’t worry about how your school calculates (weighted) GPA however. You will enter individual subject grades into the application (as well as send the transcript), and MIT does its own calculations from the data they have on each of your courses (and what each letter grade means for your school).</p>
