Grade Trend?

<p>Okay I need an opinion. Many colleges state that in transfer admissions, they look for an increasing grade trend. My friend who did horrible in HS (mid 70 average) is now almost done with his second year of CC, and has about a 3.6 gpa. He thinks that they will take into account his progress from HS to college, but I told him HS grades are menial at this point. Now, I'm not so sure, and I don't wanna tell him something that's not true. What do you guys think?</p>
