They won't look at the senior grades until after you're admitted. But yeah I suppose there's a trend there but I don't think it would help that much. I don't think that GPA is too low. The UC's don't really look at unweighted GPA, just UC GPA which is pretty much weighted GPA. And I think it depends on what college you're applying to of course. By college I mean you could be applying to the college of letters and science or the college of engineering.

Freshmen year grades don't count, btw.

whenever people wonder if their 4.0+ gpa is "too low," i kinda wanna laugh. i mean, nothing against you...i understand that you really want to look good and you're worried about all the people you have to compete against in the application process. but really...it's kinda ridiculous when a better-than-A average doesn't mean a whole lot anymore, because it really should.

it makes me think about how people don't get proper recognition for working for those A+ gpa's. i mean, you should get rewarded for accomplishing that. but it's ironic because getting good grades puts you in a more "exclusive" ballpark where that gpa isn't as significant as it should be. i guess i'm a bit of an idealist.

but ya, your grades and gpa look like Cal caliber to me. if the rest of your activities reflects your grades, then you stand an excellent chance of acceptance. that is your ultimate question, right? you want to know if your grades are good enough to be accepted?

average UW GPA is 4.28 and W is 3.85
