Graded Writing Sample?

<p>For Reed, I have to send a graded writing sample. Since English this year has been focused on writing the Senior Essay--a 20+ page persuasive paper--I don't have a sample from this year (my final draft will be handed back on Wednsday--the day of my midterm). So, I have to choose something from last year. My real question is, how long should this sample be? The application doesn't specify. Is a five page paper okay? I don't have anything shorter. So bascially, its between a five page paper and a 17 page paper (my Junior Essay). </p>

<p>I'm just not sure how long they expect the samples to be.</p>

<p>Sorry, I can't figure out how to edit my post! But I forgot to add that the shorter one is about language preservation and the longer essay is about romanticism of war in American literature. They both got the same grade (A+).</p>

<p>I would send in the 5-page paper, but make sure that the teacher's comments are written on it (or on an additional sheet/rubric).</p>

<p>typical for this would be a 5 page double spaced paper!
a good range would be 3-6 pages ... all double spaced!!</p>
