I've been told that I'm going to receive a LL (I'm verbally committed) but I'm scared about my first quarter grades. It looks like I'll be ending up with 2 A's/A-s and then B+'s (and maybe a B) in all AP courses. I'm really worried wabout this and I'm trying my hardest. If I can get these up to minimum of B+s will I be OK?

Relax, you’re fine. Keep chugging away.

You are totally fine. Try to avoid any C grades but even one of those probably won’t be a problem. Legal matters are problems. Stay out of trouble.

So colleges don’t have to see first quarter grades before the LL goes out?

The LL is issued when the special committee has finished reviewing the complete application. I could imagine in some truly borderline circumstances, a committee might hold the app until the grades are reported.

FWIW, the earlier the app goes in the better - but that’s what every parent would say.
