Grades and GPA

heyy guys,

so i was wondering when colleges say that gpa matters...are they implying that the difficulty of your classes and how high your gpa is...or how good your grades are. because i take the hardest classes offered at my school..and i have a gpa of 4.039. but i get some B's...and 2 C's. I really want to try for some medical programs, and i'm afraid that the colleges will see my subpar grades and decline my application. so what do you guys think? will they look at the fact that i'm in hard classes and my gpa is high..or the fact taht i didnt so well in those classes? btw, the 2 C's are from AP classes. and i've gotten A's in all honors classes, just AP classes i've gotten B's and the C's.

damn, ur school must have more weight for AP's then mine....if u get a C or B, ur GPA definatly wont be a 4.0

If the AP Bs and Cs are in math and science classes, they will hurt for pre med programs at top schools. How are your math/science SAT I and IIs?

yea, those B's and C's are in math and science classes...hmm not feeling too good about that now. SAT 2- chem i got 660...math 2C i got 680...SAT-math 700..but i retook it so hopefully i did better? ACT-math i got a 35 and science i got a 29.

also the C's i recieved were from two very hard grading teachers...but if i get like a 4 or 5 on the AP tests for those classes, would that help?

on the issue of weight..as i know it:
for my school, at least, your GPA doesnt change if you get C's in honors classes, so for C's in AP, it would def go up.
