Grades are going horrible?

Hi! I'm a 10th grader in high school and so far my year sucks. Last year I got all A's by taking mediocre level classes and this year I took all honors classes and one AP (which I'm pretty sure my school allows 1-2 AP's for my grade). Oh, and I took one "regular" level class because my school doesn't offer an honors level for that one particular subject. This is all common sense for me though, because I want to get into Princeton, but my grades are DEFINITELY not showing that.

I have an 80 and and 81 in the 2 math classes I'm taking, low A's in everything else except in chem I have a 58 which is a very long story, but I can't change it.

I have a huge chem test which could raise my grade ALOT but I'm really not a chem person I guess. I can't even understand my homework at this point and my teachers really mean so I wouldn't want to stay after with her. None of my friends are smart enough or remember this from previous years and my parents don't know what I'm learning.

What do I do?!

For Math I’d recommend Khan Academy or any other online resource.

For Chemistry, unless there’s another chemistry teacher you can go to, you need to suck it up and stay after school to ask that teacher for help.

My chemistry teacher from sophomore year was this crazy dude who made YouTube videos. Search up Mr. Rosengarten on YouTube, you’ll find him. He made review videos, songs to teach new topics (they are absolutely priceless), and allowed subscribers to send him in questions. If you’re struggling, give him a shot.

Use Bozeman science for Chemistry

Crash Course: Chemistry — Every lesson is covered in a 10 minute video. I haven’t used this yet, but i use the history videos for APUSH and you wouldn’t believe how helpful John Green is.

<a href=“Chemistry - YouTube”>https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL8dPuuaLjXtPHzzYuWy6fYEaX9mQQ8oGr</a></p>

Khan Academy: Chemistry — practice problems with video tutorials.

<a href=“Chemistry library | Science | Khan Academy”>https://www.khanacademy.org/science/chemistry</a></p>

For math, pinpoint what problems you are having… is it test day nerves? careless mistakes? not understanding material? Find that, and I can give you my advice. You can always use Khan Academy if you don’t understand the math. What classes are you taking?

I second Bozeman Science, but I mainly used Brightstorm videos.

At least you have a chemistry teacher. My chemistry teacher is so bad she didn’t even know how to convert feet to inches… I had to show her how to do it. Besides, you never know your chem teacher may actually be nice!!! I thought my English teacher hated me but I just realized she’s a funny psycho lady hahaaha

thanks! i guess i’ll try to give my chem teacher a shot!

and thanks to everyone who suggested crash course! i always used that for math but i forgot he covered chem! and i’ll def try out all the other vids
