What all do I need to have in order to make the jump from NMSF to NMF? I got a 229 on my PSAT, 2170 on SAT, and I have great extracurriculars. My problem is that I have a 3.0 GPA. It's a rigorous curriculum and a very good private school, but I'm concerned anyway.

Has anyone before been in a comparable situation, or know of anything that could help? Thanks

If you read the different posts regarding grades you might find, as I did, that the grades can really vary. I know of one semi-finalist denied for having one D in 9th or 10th grade (can’t remember which) and others with 2 or 3 C’s making it to finalist. If you don’t have any D’s or F’s and only a few C’s you will hopefully be fine. But, as I think anyone can attest, the GPA expectation can change each year and if NM decides to raise the standards they can.

Make sure you have a great essay when you complete your application in the fall and if you are truly taking very rigorous classes, your GC will be able to indicate that on the application. Good luck and don’t worry. You can’t change the past, you can only work toward the future.

Your GC or the Principal needs to address that head on. They have places where then can add their comments and explain the situation
