Grades too low ?? ...

Okay so Basically I wanted to know how I stack up academically for yale--> with specific comments you guys have on my unweighted and weighted averages. I go to a pretty difficult private school and so I was kind of concerned about these averages in grade 10 and 9 only. *These grades are what would go on my transcript

Grade 9

Math: 92

unweighted : 92.8 << Rank 2 of 140~

Grade 10

Math: 93
Environmental Science: 90
Canadian History: 98
English: 92
French : 92

unweighted : 93.4 << Rank 3 of 150~

Grade 11

Math: 97
Chemistry: 97
Bio: 98
History: 99
English: 96
16th century his: 99
Stats: 96
Philosophy: 98
weighted: 97.5
unweighted : 97.3 << Rank 1 of 160~

SAT II: 800, 790, 780
SAT: 2400
APs: Taken 7 APs thus far, 5s on all of them

So how do I stack up for Yale academically. It may seem like a foolish question, but I realize how competitive it is to get in and the hard work that tons of applicants put in every year to their studies.

NOTE: my guidance counsellor plans on submitting a ranking of 1 (due to my high grades in gr. 11) to my universities of choice, so I suppose my transcript grades (above) are what im worried about as oppose to my final rank.

Thank you.

you are a competitive applicant. you have a shot of getting in. there is no better designation of likelihood of acceptance.

Who cares what your UW/W GPA is? You’re the valedictorian!

And you have a perfect SAT score and near-perfect subject test scores… apply SCEA my friend, you’ve got a shot.

I really hope you are a ■■■■■. Otherwise you are just seeking validation for your accomplishments on the internet, and that is just sad.

jeez, give him a break, he’s applying to yale, he could be legitimately concerned. to answer your question, yes your grades in the first two years are high enough

Rank puts your grades in perspective, and your rank is very high. So i think you’ll be fine.

Another metric is on your teacher recs for the common app… where teachers rank you in relation to the rest of their students. You’ll want to pick teachers who will call you “one of the top students i’ve had in my career.”
