Grades

I'm currently a junior and am becoming increasingly worried about where I stand. I have a 3.4 weighted gpa but since freshman year it has increasingly gone down from a 3.61. I took the sat and received a 1500 with out any preparation. I'm worried I won't get into a 4 year school and needed some help as to where I should even begin to start planning or if I should look into community college.

There will be a four year school that you can get into. I guarantee you of that. There are thousands of colleges in the U.S., some of which are test optional. Although you may not get into a top university, there are many schools that you could get into. Get the SAT up, and that will bolster your chances.

There are many, many schools you will get into…and good ones at that! Please don’t hold yourself up to most of the posters on this board! They are not the majority…there are almost 3000 colleges and your stats are by no means bad. Work hard first semester next year…try to have your grades improve where you can. Study and retake the SAT in the fall and try to at least take the ACT once- you may surprise yourself. You will be fine! See a college counselor at school and have them generate a list with your stats and interests. You can begin with that list and add and subtract as you go. Good luck!
