Hi,
This is my first post, and I've got to admit, I've become quite nervous over the past couple of weeks after receiving my SAT scores and realizing that college is really close to me now. But, it is also so far away since I really have no idea what my stats look like on an application!

Here's all the info I could possibly give you:

3.5 Cumulative GPA [4.0 Scale]
4.1 Junior Year GPA [4.0 Scale]
2150 SAT (All)
1500 SAT (Math: 780 Reading: 720)
31 ACT Score
150 Hours of Community Service (Approx)
Sailing Instructor for 2 Years (Summer)

Now, for the questions...

Will colleges think I don't fit because my Cumulative GPA is low? I really did not realize how much I needed to prepare for college so I slacked my Freshman year, which brought the Cumulative GPA down. But my Junior Year GPA really backs up my real effort (2 AP's 4 Honors). So, cumulative > junior? Or the other way around?

The schools I'm applying to include:

University of Michigan (in-state applicant; I've heard that helps a minuscule amount)
Boston College
Boston University
New York University

Those are my top 4, so if you could tell me what kind of reach/not reach I'm looking at getting into those schools, I would really appreciate it! As a matter of fact, I appreciate all of your insights!

Thanks,

Matthew
