Grading at Stony Brook

Hello everyone,

I’m a soon-to-be freshman at Stony Brook and was wondering if anyone could tell me how the grading works at Stony Brook.

What’s the scale?
How hard is it to get a 4.0?
How are these particular classes at Stony:
Microeconomics, Statistics/Calculus, Physics, and any English course? How many classes should freshman take?

All of these are questions I’ve really been thinking about and would appreciate any help. Thanks!

Its not as as hard to get 4.0 as it is to maintain one. It really depends on your major,what classes your taking, which professors you have is a biggie. But generally i find it be very competitive and stressful. But Good luck :slight_smile:
