Graduate Classes and Undergraduate GPA

Does anyone know if you take graduate classes whether it'll change your undergraduate GPA. I know for College of Engineering you can use graduate classes to satisfy requirements, but do they improve your GPA?

if you get a solid A....

do you need to get approved or something to take grad classes?

yes, most of the time you just need the professor's permission

Does anyone know if telebear would allow you to even add to the class?
Has anyone actually done this before? I would like to take a grad level class but I have no idea how

I took a graduate course last semester. I had to get the professor's permission, and then I was given a CEC. I don't have the grade for it yet, so I can't tell you how it affects your undergraduate GPA.

Telebears will not allow you to add it IF the course says it's restricted to graduate students (which they almost exclusively are).

so how did you add to the class on telebears?
Was the class not restriced to grad students?

I'm not sure its wise to leave questions like this for the community, its nice that you are asking...but I think you would be best off calling the relevant offices yourself.

Its called undergraduate gpa for a reason :)

/snarkiness

I added the class on Telebears a couple weeks into the semester with the CCN (from schedule.berkeley.edu) and the CEC (from the professor).

The class was most definitely restricted to graduates only. I knew the professor from a previous course and knew that she was open to admitting undergraduates to the class. If you aren't sure about how your department handles it (I'm in English), I strongly recommend that you directly email the professor of the class you're interested in taking.
