graduate early or internship?

what do you guys suggest?
i have an option of graduating and getting my bachelor's by may 2008,
but i won't be able to get a summer internship since i'll be taking a full load of courses this upcoming summer. i'll also have to take a few extra credits each semester.

or.. i could get the internship experience, not have to take summer classes, take a lighter load in classes, and graduate in may 2009.

what would you guys do? i'm leaning towards graduating early, because i'm already behind. i graduated hs in 2003, took a year off, and transferred twice, so i kind of want to graduate and start working asap. problem is, i want to work in investment banking or consulting. how hard would it be get land a full-time offer without the internship experience?

any thoughts/comments would be greatly appreciated.

do a 10-15 hour a week paid internship while in school.

thats what i am doing.

Internship. Nothing is worse than getting into the workforce and not having a job.

yeah, but i'm also attending a top school with a top business program. won't i still be able to get a job?

in competitive firms, internships are looked upon as best source of recruiting. don't underestimate internships and their importance.

thanks.
any other input?

and i dont think i have time to do a 10-15 hour paid internship because my course work requires WAY too much time -_-

i think its better to get a 3.5 and do an internship than get a 4.0 and not do the internship.

How do you not have enough time? are you doing tons of ECs?

I don tknow, i have to have time because i need th emoney, so i just got lucky that it happend to be a paid internship. I know you go to some godly awsome school like Uchicago or something, i dont remeber which one, but i am sure the course load can not be so significantly more demanding than ucla,.... so, i suggest you make time for a 10 hour internship. You can do like 5 hours monday and 5 hours firday.

Internships give you real world experience and gread refrences. grades cant speak for that, even if you come from harvard.

if you worked for 10 hours at goldman sachs while going to the city univeristy of new york, you would be more desirable to an employer than if you graduated with a 4.0 from harvard.

one student shows he has the knowledge do the work, the other shows he can do the work.

Expereince and education are not the same, you want a good blend of both.

anybody else?

forgiven if you are waiting for one person to tell you to graduate early and to ignore an internship because you need the support, you shouldn't be asking anyone else. if you aren't going to consider our opinion don't have us wasting our time typing them.

i'm just looking for more input from different people. sheesh.

**** the internship and graduate early

You're grown up, make your own decision.
