graduate school acceptances

Hi all, I was admitted to the Universty scholars program. I want to know about the prospect of getting into top-tier business and/or graduate engineering schools from Northeastern. If I cannot go to an extremely prestigious undergraduate school, I want to assess the possibility of getting into a top-tier school. Current students, do you know anyone who has gone to graduate school? How hard is it?

The program is only a few years old and the first class of scholars has not yet graduated.

This thread may give you some answers:

@kiddie I know that. I mean, overall. All NEU students (maybe specifically honors students)

@TomSrOfBoston‌ I was the one who had asked the question on that thread as well! lol

Well, i graduated from Northeastern and went on to get an MBA from Wharton.

@TomSrOfBoston‌ Well said, good sir. Can you please tell me what you did at NU, and what kind of gpa/major/gmat u had. why do u think u got in?

I know Northeastern students who have gone on to engineering and science PhD programs like MIT, Stanford, Harvard, etc. You can absolutely get into top programs. Co-op to get extensive research experience for applying to research programs can be a huge plus.

@ib43823 I graduated back in the commuter days. My coops were at a Big 8 (that dates me) CPA firm. My GPA was very impressive but my GMAT (ATGSB back then) was not spectacular. I had worked for a couple of years after graduation before applying.
