Graduate Schools in Art History/Arts Administration!!

hi,
I'm doing honours in Art History, and interested in pursuing my career in arts administration - possibly at governmental organization or art council type of organizations.

Does anyone have suggestions for arts administrion schools for master's degree? I heard there is a program at NYU and Chicago Arts Institute, but I don't know much about other places. I'm open to UK schools as well.

I don't want to sound like an elitist, but I've heard that it's better to go for the schools with reputation in this field - but it seems like many "top" art history departments only offer degrees in art history curatorial studies, criticism or preservation.. What schools do you suggest that has a) good reputation b) programs that more specifically designed for arts administration?

And does anyone have general statistics as to what your undergrad GPA should be to get into art history programs ranked high in the rankings?

But I also want to teach (at university level) during some point of my life, and ppl have been telling me that I probably would need Ph.D in Art history - and that I won't be able to get into ph.d art history unless I have master's in <art history="">. Is this true? Can't I have master's in arts administration and later go into ph.D Art history? Or is it really necessary to have ph.d in Art history if I want to teach in this field later on?</art>

sorry for the long question, but every bits of information will help!!

"I don't want to sound like an elitist"

You will be the end of this all. :)

Have you spoken to your professors about this? They're probably your best source of information.
