Graduated, And On To Better Things!

I haven't posted here in forever, and I just wanted to update you all on how I've been doing since I graduated last spring. I'm taking a gap year right now and working at a small start-up company, and I've recently been accepted to my top choice medical school.

To all you prospective students applying to college right now, I just want to tell you that Cal is a great school. I cannot tell you how happy I am to have been able to graduate debt-free thanks to the kind help of my parents, but also the relatively low tuition cost ($13k my last year). I had the chance to meet so many cool, intelligent, and passionate people during my four years here. Berkeley is one of my favorite cities now thanks to its great food scene, fantastic views, crisp weather, and its plethora of hiking/running trails and I hope that in the future I can come back and live there permanently. Every time I visit Cal now I feel like I'm home again.

For everyone who's still at Cal right now: work HARD, really hard. But also take the time to appreciate your friends, classmates, and the many other amazing people here. Cal has so much to offer and we are all so lucky to be a part of this community.

I have so much love for this school and I hope that you all - even in the midst of your exam seasons and seemingly endless research papers - remember to feel it too. Cal has changed me forever and moving away from the bay will be bittersweet but I will always remember the memories I made here and carry on my Cal pride to my next life adventure.

Good luck, and as always, GO BEARS!!!

Congrats! What med school did you get accepted to?

How differently would you feel if you didn’t get into a single medical school?

Thank you for your great advice, which I unreservedly agree with.

The key is to work hard. As you emphasize, very hard, while still managing to meet friends and exercise.

Thanks for the advice! really made my day! Thanks for helping me realize to enjoy my college years!

Ignore fortify’s question. At least (s)he’s made it, and let’m enjoy his accomplishments. At least he’s giving back to the underlings with advice and shared experiences ^__^

Congratulations! Make sure to give back to Cal when you start making $$$!

Haha fortify has a great point.
