Hey CC, so I’m currently a junior in high school. I only have a few credits left to take to complete my diploma, and I’m running out of interesting and enriching classes to take at my high school. So I decided I wanted to apply to my reach schools and just see if I can make it in. If so, I’ll just graduate early and go to college. But if not I’ll find something to do at my high school.
In order to complete my diploma, I do have to drop my second semester of AP Statistics, but that isn’t a problem because I already have 4-5 math classes under my belt. But if there is no chance of getting in I don’t see why I should do that.
Here is my breakdown:
SAT I (breakdown): Didn’t have time to take, so N/A
ACT (breakdown): Composite 36, English 36, Math 36, Reading 36, Science 36
SAT II: Just took, so no scores back yet, but I am highly certain it will be Math II - 800 and Physics - 800
Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0): 4
Weighted GPA: 4.7857
Rank (percentile if rank is unavailable): 2/378
AP (place score in parenthesis): Calculus BC (5), Chemistry (5), Physics 1 (5), Human Geography (4), European History (3),
IB (place score in parenthesis): N/A
Senior Year Course Load: Junior, but: AP United States History, AP Statistics, Honors Spanish 4.0, Honors Multivariable Calculus, AP Language and Literature, AP Physics 2, AP Biology, and I will finish these credits online/over the summer: Contemporary Communications, Second semester of P.E, Health, and AP Government.
Subjective:
Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis):
Chess Club - 9th, 10th, 11th (Co-President)
Scholars Bowl - 9th, 10th, 11th
Science Knowledge Bowl - 10th, 11th
Programming Club - 11th
Future Business Leaders of America - 11th
Biology Club - 11th
Volunteer/Community service:
Boy Scouts - 9th, 10th, 11th (Various leadership roles including Senior Patrol Leader)
Athletics/Clubs:
Martial Arts (outside of school) 11th
I am missing some volunteer work, leadership, and athletics, but with Boy Scouts especially I can reflect it much better in my essays.
Essays: Haven’t written yet, working on it right now. I have good stuff to write about, especially focusing on dedication when it comes to school (I self studied and skipped 3 different classes in middle and high school, all on my own)
