Is it possible to graduate in three years at Rice? Or do they make you stay for four years? I'm considering pursuing pre-med at Rice, but I highly doubt that I will get any merit aid. If I graduate early, I can save both time and money.

It is possible and not uncommon, although I don’t think matriculating with the intention of graduating in three years is necessarily a good idea, since you really don’t yet know how your classes will go.

It is pretty easy to graduate early, especially if you are a pre-med with a small humanities major or something. Graduating early with engineering or a double major is significantly harder.

My mom would not let me go to Rice to major in something “easy.” She wants me to major in something of marketable value (science-related), so that just in case I don’t get into med school, I’ll have a decent job…

^^ I did not say that a humanities major was easy. I said that they generally have a smaller number of classes. As for market value, it depends on what you want to do and how good you are at it.

Probably want to not make a generalization like that, lest you earn the ire of many Rice students/grads

It depends on your major and how much incoming AP credit you have.
