graduation rate?

I've asked this question 3 times to 3 different people in VT admissions and gotten 3 different answers. So, at the risk of raising that number to (at least) 4, I'll ask it here. Does anyone know the percentage of freshman that start out in engineering end up gradiating from VT with an engineering degree? The numbers I've been told from VT range from 60% to around 85%. How about 4 years vs 5 or more?

It’s 53% according to us news. :)

aravkharkwal: 53% is the overall 4 year graduation rate for the university. I want to know what percentage of people that start out in engineering graduate with a degree in engineering. (How many switch to other majors, how many don’t graduate from VT)

The FAQ says 67% [Department of Engineering Education | Virginia Tech](http://www.enge.vt.edu/Undergraduate/faq.html)

At orientation they gave the 4 year graduation rates but I cannot remember the number exactly. They said it was in line with other engineering programs. It is doable especially if you enter with AP/IB credit etc. I think it might skewed to beyond 4 years because of the Corps of Cadets. I don’t think any cadet will graduate in 4 years due to their extra commitments so be careful comparing that number to other colleges.

thanks, that is just what I was looking for.
