How many quarter units can you have incomplete from your major and still walk the stage for graduation? (will complete during that summer and maybe the upcoming fall)

at least at the schools my three sons attended, you could not walk for graduation unless you had completed all of the requirements for your degree. So, if you need to take classes in the summer and fall semesters to complete your degree requirements, you would walk in either the winter graduation ceremony, or with the class in the following spring.

Why would a college let you walk if you had not completed the requirements? How would the school be certain that you would complete all of the requirements otherwise?

although I have heard of cases where they let a student walk if it just a matter of completing a small requirement; for example, finishing up the final draft of a paper or something small like that.

You’re going to have to check with your school to see what the requirements to walk are.

At my school, anyone can walk in commencement if they have completed 135 units (senior standing) by the end winter quarter. It doesn’t matter how many requirements you have or have not completed. It depends on your school.
