This is a really nice easy read summary of the Grammy’s night. Great photos, some performance links, some Twitter commentary (generally positive) - gifted article so you should all be able to enjoy!
I am a big Trevor Noah fan, and I sure miss watching him on The Daily Show. He makes a great Grammy host.
Thought it was great. I enjoyed the HipHop 50 year tribute, even though I didn’t recognize all of the artists.
Was nice to see that the top awards went to several different artists; nobody dominated. Was great to see Bonnie Raitt win a top award. Love Stevie Wonder and Smokey Robinson and Chris Stapleton was a good addition. In Memoriam was much better this year. Interesting that they used David Crosby’s own music, rather than have others pay tribute.
Overall, very enjoyable to me even though I am not all that up on current music.
Interesting - I thought her dress was horrible. It looked2 sizes too small.
I have to agree, it was one of my least favorites of the night.
I thought the Hip Hop montage was too long, but it isn’t my favorite genre.
Count me as another who didn’t know Kim Petras was trans. What did you think of Unholy? I actually liked the melody until I looked up the lyrics. The devil and the cage meaning was lost on me.
Oh, I LOVE the song. So steamy and sexy in presentation. Their SNL performance was great.
I liked the performance, and I like the song. I don’t find it shocking - strip clubs have been around a long time, and it’s not all innocent unmarried men who go. And yes, I can be shocked (W.A.P. did make me say, “What??”).
Yeah, it’s kind of scary when I recognize a much higher percentage of those in the Memoriam segment than the nominees. I’m old.
Ben Affleck checking the clock to see if it’s too soon to go outside for another cigarette.
I usually like Harry Styles’ gender bending, glam rock inspired outfits (doesn’t hurt that he’s easy on the eyes), but I did not like his Grammy red carpet look. It reminded me of something that I couldn’t quite remember. It finally clicked: an outfit of Freddie Mercury’s. I thought Freddie wore it better. Freddie could wear a shower curtain and look fabulous, however, so no shade on Harry.
I thought the same thing when I saw it. I’d have liked it to have had sleeves like Freddie.
I was happy to see that Viola Davis won a Grammy for best narration of an audiobook, thereby achieving EGOT status. It was well deserved.
