Grant Money for Out of State Residents?

Can anyone let me know whether grants or scholarships are readily available to out of state residents? My kid can afford the in-state rate but unfortunately can't afford the out-of-state rate (ouch!). I

These are just merit scholarships; need-based aid may also be granted. However, UVM doesn't promise to meet 100% of need, so there may be some "gapping" involved between your EFC and what UVM offers.

UVM awards some merit scholarships for out of states, their biggest being a 18000 one, which you had to apply for and ended in january (I missed it by 2 days I'm so upset).

They will give Need-Based aid just like any other school so just hope for that. I know I"m upset about their cost for out of states - its a huge difference - but I really want to go to UVM. If you have any other questions you can PM me since I"m also from out of state (and attending in 2008)

Don't forget, apply to EVERY PRIVATE SCHOLARSHIP you can find - even if its 100 dollars. Because that will 100 dollars that you don't have to pay X_X

uvm definitely awards merit scholarships and need based aid. personally, i got $2000 per year without applying for anything, and i've met a lot of people in a similar situation.
