Graphing calculator? (Texas Instruments?)

Well this year im taking AP PhysicsB, AP Calc AB, AP Stats, AP Chem
and the following year im taking AP Phys C, AP calc BC, Bio and the other is undecided

i heard that ill need a graphing calculator so which is the best/ most popular model and what's the price of it? School starts in a week but id really like to know which calculator i need before ( i live in a 3rd world country so it might be hard to find)

TI-89. Ebay if you need to cheaper. It's the ONLY way to go.

I just got a TI-84 Plus today. It's very nice. I'm taking AP Chem and Pre-calc this year, and it'll be even more vital with AP Calc BC and AP Physics next year.

okay thanks, and will i need to use this calculator in university as well? ( engineering major)

My vote's on the 83/84.
I'm not a fan of the 89.

Hells, yes, you'll want it in college.

ahhh so should i get the 89 (it sounds more advanced?)since it would last me through college anyway?

the ti-89 is the best calculator on the market. you can even program it and do a whole bunch of crazy tish with it.

for my ap calc class
we used the TI 89 which was on loan by the school =D

TI calculators are old and outdated. if you want the best you sure as hell don't want a Ti. get a Hp 50G. Only reason Ti calculators are popular is that Ti bought out schools and forced them to only use Ti.

Where on earth are you getting this from???
If you're going to make such an off the wall comment, have some back up first.

For AP stats, the 89 is completely useless. For AP Calc, the 89 is amazing. I would rent an 83or 84 plus and buy the ti-89.

Johnson just search for it. Its a pretty well known fact. Theres a reason most HS in America only allow Ti's, and its not because they are the best.

Why don't you give us a source to back you up instead of just telling us to "search for it"?

Honestly, that makes it seem as if you're jut making it up.

def the 89.. man you can do some crazy s*** on that calculator.. esp. for calc and phys

TI-89 titanium
it will become ur best friend

Do a search? Are you kidding me? Search using what keywords? I tried at least 5 I could think of relating to what you said... nothing.

My school allows us any kind of calculator we want, and nearly all of us choose TI. No- the school has never stated any preference, and at least one of our teachers uses an HP.
So, back it up. It sounds like you pulled that "fact" out of your rear end.

Really have nothing to prove, You are the one supporting a inferior product.

Whatever you do, just get a Texas Instruments calculator. It's the most common, and teachers will be able to help you. Seriously..don't get a HP or Casio.
The TI 89 really isn't required for high school math (even considering that this is CC and the it's not uncommon to finish Calculus in middle school) because you won't use it to it's potential/might end up using it as a crutch. It's more of a college calculator AFTER you've learned the basics.

Inferior product? It works more than fine for me.

Can someone please tell me why I like to feed trolls?
