Great Boarding Schools to Work For

Take a look at this article on great colleges to work for:
Great Colleges to Work For - The Chronicle of Higher Education

I wonder how a similar report might read were it done for boarding schools.

Welcome insights/thoughts.

Cheers

Of course, it’s on an individual case basis. But I think the vast majority of boarding school faculty will mostly balance these attributes (not in order):

Quality and track record of administration and fellow faculty
Quality of the students
School atmosphere (friendly, cold, supportive…that sort of thing)
Pay
Benefits (including willingness to pay for education of faculty children)
Geography

If I were a would-be faculty member, I think I’d look hard at SPS, Andover, Cate, Thacher, maybe Milton, maybe Groton, Asheville and a few others. The California schools with their stunning climate advantage (beaches/mountains/skiiing) and the excellence of the kids and faculty make a good argument for a very high quality of life. SPS, Andover and Groton (large and small) have all those storied traditions that make for a wonderful foundation for the School and seem less “factory-like” than their NE peers.
