Great Idea for Gap Year

This is a program sponsored by UMass where students are placed in ecovillages where they work and study and receive credit from the college.

wow awesome. i SO wish i could take a gap year but i have a feeling i am going to do that after i get my undergrad degree

Their primary mission is study abroad programs for college students, so you can do it now. If you are a current senior they even have a January Term you can do.

naw i dont want to make it a semester thing. then it becomes like a study abroad term and not an actual life-in-another-world-for-a-year. i want it to be like a crazy year long sabbatical, not an extended vacaction. thanks for posting this though,

I think you should get in touch with my son. He went off and installed movable irrigations systems for poor farmers in Chappas Mexico for nearly a year. At any rate, he learned Spanish very well. Drove us CRAZY with fear for his safety. Had NO medical insurance.
Jimmbob: Just get the degree. THEN decide what you want to do. Why do you not want the degree?
Jimmbob; How old are you?
