Great unique UTD gift idea!

Enarc t-shirt! https://customink.com/fundraising/enarc-t-shirts

What does this mean? I get that Enarc is crane backwards but what does this mean at UTD?

It an unofficial mascot, there’s almost constant contruction at UTD and there’re jokes about praying to Enarc for good grades, kids saying “All Hail Enarc who watches over us” stuff like that, all in good fun. UTD’s official mascot is Temoc which is Comet spelled backward, they are the UTD Comets, so that’s where the backward spelling comes from. There’s a whole sub reddit devoted to this silliness but I don’t think I’m allowed to link to it.

Here’ a comic that appeared in the UTD student paper during the last push to change the mascot from the creepy blue Temoc to Enarc: https://utdmercury.com/enarc/

I don’t know why but I like the backwards spelling thing
I think every college campus we’ve seen has some sort of construction on it though. I know when I was in college there was always construction

UTD has seen extensive construction in the last 10 years - 4 dorms, 2 apartments, dining hall, parking garages, alumni center, Callier Center, Biomedical building, engineering building, ATEC, landscaping, student center and they are presently working on the new physics building. It is almost a brand new university. I think there is only 2 or 3 older buildings left. Also, Northside, just adjacent to UTD is brand new within the last 2 years.

UTD really has had some amazing growth over the past few years and very unique history. They started out as a graduate research school, became a part of the UT system in 1969, then admitted juniors and seniors in 1975 and didn’t start admitting freshman until 1990. It really is a young and up and coming university!
