Hello everyone. I am a junior in high school in Colorado and I'm considering applying to Richmond ED next fall. I love everything about the school except the fact that there is no housing for fraternaties. I'm concerned that a large part of the fraternity process will be left out by not having a house to live in with all my brothers. Can anyone comment on the greek housing situation at Richmond? Thanks!

What parts are you concerned about that will be left out?

I’m concerned that the frat life at UR will not be as big a part of the college experience as it would be at a school that does have frat housing. I’ve read in a few places that the frat life at UR is no more than a “t-shirt club”. While I’m sure this is a hyperbole, I want to be very involved with a fraternity at whatever school I go to.

Tim, if you’ve been to UR (assuming you have since you’re considering ED), you should know that frat life isn’t that way at all at UR. Sorority life (for a lot of girls) has been no more than a T-shirt club, but the frats certainly aren’t. At a school as small as UR, it’s probably best that frats don’t have their own housing.
