Hey does anyone know if Greek life is allowed on campus?
I know that there are no social sororities or fraternities, so I was just wondering if it was just because no one ever had an interest, or if the school doesn’t allow greek organizations? (besides the honor society Phi Theta Kappa, which is not a social org, and only for AA degree students.)
I also wanted to know if there are students on here that are interested in expanding a sorority if FIT does allow it.
@kktsss
I was wondering the same thing. I don’t believe it’s necessarily that the school doesn’t allow Greek organizations; rather, sororities are hesitant to start chapters at FIT due to a lack of interest, a lack of Greek life in general/reputation, and fiscal commitments. However, I am personally interested in expanding a social/cultural sorority if possible!
@katieclj I agree with your statement about lack of interest for Greek life, although I heard there isn’t any because people are too busy with their school load to have Greek life, since many students state that they’re there primarily to learn and work, rather than get involved in Greek life.
