While I know many people say greek life isn't very significant at NYU, is anyone able to describe it, do a only certain type of people go Greek at NYU?
Are there major differences in the fraternities and sororities like at some schools(academic, attractiveness, money)?

...any takers?

Since most of the people here are incoming freshmen or transfers, you may have more success with students already there. Try asking here.

Greek life while not huge as it is in other schools is definitely alive at NYU. The coolest parties and a lot of really great people are in the fraternitites and sororities. Your first week at school you'll get a lot of information about different fraternitites and sororities and rush info

"coolest parties"?

I must reply and say that everyone's definition of cool differs. And I have a feeling that the reason greek life isn't so big at nyu is because not may people there consider frat parties to be cool. Doesn't that make sense?

The biggest problem with NYU for many people is the lack of community. If that is what your looking for than I suggest looking into a Greek organization. If you've been to parties at NYU you'll know what I mean when I say the coolest parties.
