Is anyone familiar with Iowa State's April Greek Weekend? Is it a prospective student's best way to get to know the fraternities/sororities?

My DD is heading up to Iowa State for this in a couple of weeks…I talked to the head of Sororities at Preview Days and was told that it is a great way to try out the Greek System before Rush. Sounds like a good way to see if it is for you and to also give you a chance to see the campus again.

i take it your talking about greek getaway? if so its the best way to get to know a fraternity/sorority before actually coming here, its also a good way of getting to know people before you go as well

i’m sure you have had a lot of calls from greek houses asking if you would like to join them, hopefully it doesnt sound too pushy. It is all for the sake of meeting people and seeing who would be interested.

if you do look at a house during greek getaway i highly suggest not setting anything in stone (that is, fall in love with that one house you checked and never check any other one out), there will be plenty of time to check other places when you come in during the fall

Thanks for the helpful information.
