Phi Kappa Psi fraternity

i'm not so sure if anyone is thinking about possibility of joining a fraternity, but just would like to put it out there that I am a pledge at Phi Kappa Psi fraternity and I have to say its the nicest people i've met.

we do lots of activities, from charity events like the polar plunge, to formals and greek week (its a week where all of the fraternities/sororities have a dry week and compete in fun games like coed basketball, softball, volleyball, swimming, etc).

a lot of socials occur as well, its at least every other week we meet with a sorority to have some social function. Its a nice way to meet people and make friends. I was kind of against fraternities until I met a few of their members and it completely changed my mind.

It is a dry house (you will quickly realize "wet" houses have a lot of alcohol parties but their room is trashed with beer cans and urine all over the floor and walls, i'm all for having fun to relieve stress of school work, but prefer to go to sleep in a nice clean room). There is always 3-4 things to do with people there so you will never feel left out.

here is the website

i figured i'd post it up just incase anyone was interested in fraternities and want to get some myths/questions out of the way

Loved your post! I did not know that Greek houses were dry or wet. How do you find that out?

My Daughter is looking at Iowa State very strongly and was interested in Sorority’s. can you give any info on which one’s are dry? How do you choose one?

When we visited Iowa State the tour guide we had was telling us that one of the Sorority’s was in an academic and a drinking violation…But he did not tell us which one. How do you avoid that senario?

Any info you have would be greatly appreciated!
