@microbial40 That’s great that your D liked it! S19 was also at the trivia and pancakes. I wish he could have spent more time with his host and other Grinnell students though. His host was super nice and kept checking in on him but had to work that night until 1:00 (!) and so S19 just decided to stay at the hotel with my husband after some movie the kids all watched. He did say his host was apologetic but it does seem odd that they would give him someone who had other plans that night.
Sounds like some of the kids formed a group chat to keep in touch and see where they all end up. That was his favorite part- meeting all of the prospectives. He liked them all and they had such similar lists. He feels like he would like it at Grinnell and it remains an option for sure as we wait for the other decisions.
Did anyone else get a really strange email about buying your Grinnell admissions file for one bitcoin. I got one and it seems like a scam, and a really scary one as they have all my personal information, even down to the name of the person who interviewed me
d19 got this, too. Not a good feeling… @homerdog let us know what you hear from admissions. I didn’t even want her to forward them (she got 2 different ones)—she just quickly deleted.
I’m going to call this morning. S19 got an email from Hamilton yesterday saying that their admissions system had been hacked. I wonder if the same thing is happening at Grinnell.
I’m guessing the same thing. It is not working time now, so it must have been some unallowed access to the application system. I was informed by Hamilton earlier as well.
Definitely agree, if they were pushing the date back, they probably would have mentioned something about decisions coming out later than usual in their follow-up email.
