Grinnell vs. Knox?

I at Knox now and am hoping to transfer. I like being at a small liberal arts school, but Knox failed me horribly when I had someone on campus acting abusively toward me (they let it go on for four months until I became so ill from the stress that I was about to drop out, at which point I was ganged up on, ridiculed, and victim-blamed to death by the administration...).

My other couple of (much smaller) gripes about Knox are the preppiness and the tendency for staff to get annoyed at being asked simple questions because they're always "too busy" (this happens to me a lot). Is Grinnell any better in those regards?

In general, how does Grinnell compare to Knox? If I liked it at Knox my first term (before everything went to seed), would I like it at Grinnell?

My nephew went to Knox and my son is a senior at Grinnell. I think there are similarities. I can’t speak to the preppiness of Knox, but my son chose Grinnell partly for the lack of preppiness, if that’s a word. He’s been happy with most of his profs and classes and very happy socially. Go for it! Can you visit campus?

I have been at Grinnell for a little over a semester now, and I have never been told by a staff or faculty member that they don’t have enough time to help me. Every person I’ve worked with on campus has been willing to make an appointment with me when I needed it. I even had a professor call my cell phone in the evening from her home because she didn’t have time to meet with me during the day!
