Knox College, Illinois Vs College of Wooster- wanted your opinions re both. I am an international student & have not been able to get feedback

Sorry, but while I can’t help with Wooster, my DS did visit Knox last fall and really liked it. It is a pretty small LAC in a small town. All of the students there seemed really friendly and helpful. The food was typical college food - not great, but not bad either. They have “Greek Life” but according to the students, they are really inclusive of everyone. We looked at a dorm that I believe was a 4-plex kind of thing, with several bedrooms attached to a central living room. Not bad at all for student housing.

The college connects to the downtown area, so it would be easy to walk to almost anything you need, but the mall is across town and almost completely deserted, with lots of empty storefronts, so if you’re a big shopper, you might take that into consideration as well.

Hope this helps a little!

I’d go for Knox if I were you.

Go to Knox. It’s got a liberal arts curriculum that is very deep, comparing very favorably with all of the top tier east coast liberal arts colleges in breadth if not depth. I compared the Computer Science curriculum with a number of those colleges and found that Knox had more of the key classes in that field than Bates College, Hamilton College, and even Swarthmore College, which was a shock. Better also than Oberlin and Reed. It also has an outstanding theatre program, writing program, and some excellent social and physical sciences offerings.
