Grinnell's Poli Sci dept?

Any information about how strong this department is would be
greatly appreciated. Any info at all, for that matter.

Many thanks.

I graduated from Grinnell in 1985 as a history major, so my experience is a bit dated. Three great profs are still on the faculty- Strauber, Grey and Moyer. It doesn't get any better than these three. Strauber's Intro class was a great introduction to to the Socratic method- familiar to those of us who suffered through law school. Moyer is a great advisor and mentor to his students. Grinnell is a great school.

Grey, Strauber and Moyer were greenhorns in 1975 -- and remain there to this day. They have responsible for a large number of American lawyers. Shame on them.

Also note, Strauber is a lawyer and used to head the prelaw advisory.

I took classes taught by Strauber just because of the manner in which he taught. In turn, I took a lot of poli-philosophy. If you had asked me if I would have had any interest in those classes when I first attended, my answer would have been a strong negative. I think that tells you a lot.

Grinnell's polisci department is exceptionally good- the professors are one of the toughest, (I hear strauber's tougher than most comp sci professors, aND THAT SAYS SOMETHING) but it's a great department- highly recommended!
(p.s- I'm a current student)

Bumpity,

Appreciate your helpful input.

How involved were your classmates in the mid-term election?
(Canvassing, calling, etc.)

Many thanks. Grinnell sounds like a terrific school!
