If you recently got accepted to Groton, congrats! I can attempt to answer any questions you have.

Thanks for the helpful offer! I have a couple random questions: First, what are the sports requirements per season? Can you ever opt out for a mentorship or play, etc.? Second, did you start in the 3rd Form? I have heard a few people comment that those who entered in the 2nd From have a leg up & was wondering what you think.

Nice you go to Groton… I’m starting there next year as a third former an I was wondering is life in the dorms about the same as when you see it on your tour of the schools or is it more fun than we actually see it

Sorry for not responding earlier, I was away.

Sports requirements; You must take an afterschool activity, and yes you can opt out for play/dance. You can also do an FSA in upperschool where a faculty will allow you to do another activity. For example, there is a kid who did a music making FSA. I started in 3rd form, but the kids in 2nd form definitely had a leg up at the beginning of the year, both academically and socially. However, it has all leveled out at this point mostly.

I’m a boy, so the two dorms are Bradley’s and Viacavas. The dorms are MUCH more fun than you guys get to see them. We go nuts and it’s great. Good fun though. You’ll be surprised how comfortable you get around your dorm mates. Congrats on getting in, if you have any questions, just PM me and I’ll try to answer you. See ya on revisit day hopefully.
